Hello again Sustaina-Warriors!

The Southeast Student Renewable Conference (SSREC) is just around the corner! And with the upcoming Presidential Election in November, it’s more important than ever to get involved in your community and SSREC will provide YOU with the skills to do so!

For those of you who have never attended an SSREC before, let me give you a quick run down of what SSREC is! It’s three days of action-packed inspiration and fun! This conference provides people with the tools to organize within their individual campuses and communities and build the skills they need to become leaders.  In a nutshell, SSREC will help YOU make a positive change in our region for future generations to come!

With the SSREC less than one month away, I felt that this would be a good time to share my personal SSREC 101 with all you wonderful people!

1.    IT’S GOING TO BE AMAZING!

2.    So, when and where is SSREC?

•       This year, SSREC will be in Tallahassee, FL on October 5th thru 7th.  The Florida Agriculture and Mechanical University will be hosting for the first time ever! Check in starts at 2 pm and goes till 9 pm on October 5th!

3.    Okay, who’s invited?

•       EVERYONE!!! We want you, your classmates, and your community members there! Your mom could even come if she wants! Just make sure she registers!

4.    Sweet, how do I register?

•       You register by visiting climateaction.net/ssrec! This webpage has all the information you need to know about SSREC.  Register RIGHT NOW by clicking HERE!

5.    You know Tallahassee is a really cool place to be, but where are you supposed to stay?

•       Never fret! Our planning committee has already put together tons of great information about lodging in Tallahassee! We’ve been working really hard to get great group rates for hotels, too!

6.    By attending SSREC, you are taking a huge step toward changing our world for the better!

•       SSREC will empower youth leaders to make a stand and take action on complex challenges of the 21st century. The conference will highlight problems and solutions to issues surrounding energy, the economy, and the environment.  One month after SSREC we will be voting for a President that will help determine our energy future for the next 4 years.  Encourage others to vote WITH the climate this November, and get the tools to do so at SSREC!
