After Power Shift there is ACTION in DC!! After facilitating at Power    Shift I was recruited to organize the iMatter march for DC and celebrate Mother Earth on Mother's day!

Alec Loorz founded Kids vs Global Warming when he was 12 in 2007 to put kids at the forefront of the fight against climate change. This year they initiated the iMatter campaign, which will raise the voices of younger generations on the most urgent crisis of our time and will be the world call for a series of lawsuits and legal petitions in all 50 states. 

Through this unprecedented global legal action the young people who have chosen to take a stand as plaintiffs are demanding:

• Peak emissions by 2011
• At least a 6% reduction in global CO2 emissions every year
• And 100 gigaton of agressive reforestation

TODAY May 4 legal petitions will be released and ON SUNDAY MAY 8 there will be marches happening all over the world from to the Himalayas, to Mount Everest, to Bangladesh, to Antartica, to Canada, to DC! An awesome group of volunteers and I are coordinating the march for DC as others get ready for their marches worldwide. Ted Turner's daughter is coordinating the march in Atlanta and hundreds of others across the US. 

NOW, the march in DC will be of particular attention because marching with us will be Top NASA climatologist Dr. James Hansen (the guy behind the number "350") and his grandchildren, CEO of Christensen Global Strategies Aimee Christensen, and Award Winning Substantial Films flying into DC to include footage of the march in a documentary. We will have student leaders and local chapters of organizations like the Sierra Club and 350.org join us as well!
