For over 12 days, supporters of the Riverdale Mobile Home Community have successfully delayed construction of a massive water withdrawal facility, permitted to suck up to 3 millions gallons of water daily from the Susquehanna River for use in fracking operations.  Residents of the community face imminent forcible displacement from their homes by Aqua America PVC, as the land on which their trailers are parked was rezoned and sold out from under them without their consent or initial knowledge. Many of them have no where to go, and will be forced to deal with the possibility of homelessness if construction begins.

Approximately half an hour before this message was written, supporters of the residents were informed by Aqua America security that they will be legally trespassing in one hours time, and that any supporters who remained at the trailer park would be arrested.  Residents have asked people to continue to support them in their struggle to save their homes, and to stop the river behind their homes from behind polluted.

Ways to Support:

- COME TO RIVERDALE: If you live within an hour of Riverdale, now is the time to drop everything and support a community in dire need. The families that have stood their ground face imminent homelessness upon their removal.

- DONATE: It has cost hundreds of dollars to feed and house the dozens of people who have come to support the residents of Riverdale. Money will be needed to support residents who face homelessness, and bail will need to be posted ASAP for those brave supporters who are holding the barricade.

- CALL OR EMAIL those responsible for fracking and the construction of this (and all) water withdrawal facilities.

- CONTACT your friends, neighbors, allies, churches, and other networks that you may belong to. Ask them to spread the word, donate, write letters to the editor of their local newspaper.
