The fossil fuel industry doesn't rest in the summer — so neither can we
As I watched the snow fall outside my window yesterday, it was hard to believe that summer is right around the corner. But you better believe that it’s coming, and the time to figure out your summer plans is NOW!
Summer is a critical time to build and strengthen the movement, and luckily there are tons of opportunities to get involved in the youth climate movement this summer!
Here a few of the awesome ways to plug in:
Power Shift 2013 Summer Fellows: Be part of the core team for Power Shift 2013
Next fall 10,000+ young people will come together for Power Shift 2013, and this summer we’re looking for grassroots leaders to help make it happen. Power Shift 2013 Summer Fellows will help drive recruitment, planning and action, and work with the movement to move Power Shift 2013 from vision to reality.
Summer of Solutions: Build the clean energy economy this summer!
This summer, young people are gathering in communities across the nation to dedicate their summers to creating a more clean, just and prosperous future. Organized by our partners at Grand Aspirations, during the Summer of Solutions, you will work with community organizations on green economy projects, and receive training in community organizing and sustainable community development techniques.
SPROG: Get trained with the Sierra Student Coalition
Ever wanted to make a difference and help fight environmental injustice and climate change? SPROG is the ultimate week-long training to teach you everything you need to know to create the positive change you have always wanted to see and to network with other young, environmental activists in your region.
These are just a few of the awesome possibilities to get involved this summer!
